  • Anaesthetic - after effects for how long?

    Why do guidelines issued by the Royal College of Anesthetists and the Association of Anesthetists suggest that someone should be with with a patient for 24 hours after they have had an operation involving use of anaesthetic? Is this being extra extra careful or are people known to be imbalanced or have behaviour/mood swings?
