To focus simply on pain reduction it is worth trying Acumed patches. They are not cheap, but one patch can last over a week even with regular baths. When the patch is finished with you can put it in the garden or a pot plant to make it jump to!

I have had it for over 70 years, so don't worry too much. Keep warm as necessary, and try whatever seem sensible ideas regarding diet. I have a garlic tablet every day of the year, which seems to reduce the times I notice the Reynard's to a few a year.
