Iron capsules or tablets have been shown in tests to help itchy, restless legs. It is something to do with helping the blood carry enough oxygen. My adult daughter and I both take an iron capsule whenever our legs itch and are restless at night.

  • Re: White Flecks on Teeth

The York Review found that around 48% of children living in areas where fluoride is artificially added to water have white flecks on teeth, called dental fluorosis. This is caused by too much fluoride which can damage tooth enamel. She should use a non-fluoride toothpaste. Boots chemists sell one and you can buy ...

  • Re: Splitting headaches

One thing that normally helps my headaches is to keep my head cold. I put a cold water compress on my head and turn a cold fan on, pointing to my head. It may not help all kinds of headaches as it depends on the cause, but 9 times out of 10 it helps mine. It also greatly cuts down the use of painkillers, which it's not a ...

  • Re: Kids and vegetables

I've found an easy way to get children to consume vegetables. I've bought a powerful blender from USA (called a Vitamix) which turns vegetables into a liquid. I blend up some fruit such as apples or grapes etc. then add some broccoli stalks and cabbage, and you can't taste the vegetables at all when mixed with fruit and a ...

  • Re: unexplained bruising.

Bruising can be caused by certain medical drugs which affect the ability of the blood to clot properly. If she is on any medication she should read the leaflet that comes with it, to see if this is listed as possible side-effect of the medicine. Also, public libraries have drug reference books which list side-effects of ...

Yes, fish oils can thin the blood and also garlic and vitamin E. Although whether they would thin it enough I don't know. Aspirin also thins the blood but this can have side-effects such as gastric bleeding etc. and it can in some people cause bleeding into the brain, which happened to my mother after she was prescribed a daily aspirin. ...
