About Ian Downie
Hi, as a technical person with a background in applied science over my 30 years career, I have been fascinated to explore the area of cellular biology. I have concluded that the health at a cellular level is fundamental to the condition of every organ, and body system and therefore to the overall body. According to the American Medical Association, 'it is now prudent for everyone to supplement'. This is likely to be due to the depletion of nutrients in most meals eaten. Much information is available in the public domain regarding soil mineral depletion, and the effects of 'green' harvesting. The positive benefits are clear in statistics also in the public domain from Government and non-Government sources of supplementation. Add to this the exposure we cannot avoid from toxins in the current environment and it is little surprise that many are unhealthy. My research into the research in this area has led me to visit many eminently qualified Medical doctors, traditional, complementary and alternative. There appears to be a common thread running through their counsel, that supplementation is essential to stay healthy on the planet today. Certainly in conjunction with adequate supplies of fresh pure water and organic produce, significant increases in wellbeing have been reported to me. Caution is however advised concerning the source and type of supplementation taken as it appears that research has shown that many companies' products are not standardised and often do not contain sufficient active ingredients to have any beneficial effects whatsoever. In fact also some products can have a negative effect. Choosing a strongly science based company with a clear commitment to 'Good Manufacturing Processes' and 'Standardised' products which are sourced from plants and not from synthetic materials is an obvious choice.
As a business leader in the UK I am cautious about the motives of many 'pharma' companies who appear threatened by natural nutritional solutions to health challenges. Drug treatment is oftentimes essential and should not be ignored, however sole reliance on masking symptoms is very short-sighted and approaches to resolve instead the underlying health issues which cause the symptoms to emerge is quite clearly of greater wisdom.
