    Baby milk formula

I would like some advice on which baby milk formula is the best in the uk as an alternative to breast milk.  My daughter, who would dearly love to breast feed, sadly will not be able to because she is permanently on medication for a condition she suffers from, and the medication would pass through her milk to her baby.  She wants the best alternative to breast milk, and would appreciate guidance.    This is her first baby.

    Hi smrichardson,

I think that Nestle baby Milk is the best Milk in the UK. This milk also helps in maintaining the health of the baby.

    Re: Baby milk formula

    Hi,

Just look at the ingredients label on all these formulas and they are predominantly sugar based...they are nutritionally dead.

You will see "proven to enhance babies immune system" or such like on many of these packets...sugar actually reduces immune function.

I can't pronounce some of the ingredients...sounds like a chemistry set!!

Go to www.ppnf.org  and look up infant nutrition on their site...it has excellent info...babies need lots of saturated fat and cholesterol...not sugar.

I seem to remember a baby milk mix which was something like raw milk...grated raw liver...cod liver oil/wheatgerm oil.

I would suggest wet nursing is preferable to any processed milk formula.

    Hope this helps

    Hi smrichardson

Have you considered urging your daughter to seek natural ways to heal for her condition, as pharmaceutical drugs very rarely do anything but set up chronic conditions and/or reactions. If you tell us what the medical condition is, I'm sure there will be lots of suggestions from people reading this as to what to do to eliminate this condition and then your daughter can get back to feeding her baby (if she's not dried off).

Whatever milk she uses (and cow's milk or soy would be my very last choices), I would urge that it comes from an organic source. And trust Robin's advice. He is our Wise One...

Where did this question come from ..? I haven't seen it before but apparently it was posted on the 8th. - This is an English website, yes? - why then are the months listed before the days... ridiculous American idea.....
