    Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome (P.C.O.S.)

The only was to solve this problem is to balance insullin levels, women's menstraul cycles are insullin driven as it were.  If the insullin is affected the mentration is affected correct the insullin and mentration will occur.

Very little Carbohydrates more protein but not a high protein diet.  The best diet to follow yourselves would be a low GI diet, give your self 2/ 3 months and and periods will resume.

I completely agree with Penny. As a naturopath, I've seen many women whose doctors have tried treating their PCOS with the birth control pill and metformin. While these medications may (or may not) help control symptoms, they do nothing to correct the underlying cause of PCOS which in most women is insulin resistance. Exercise and a low carbohydrate diet are two methods of reversing insulin resistance. That may be enough in some cases but many women need extra help by way of nutritional and/or herbal supplementation, using things to help improve insulin sensitivity, balance the sex hormones, and reduce testosterone.  For good online resources, I always send my patients with PCOS to the following websites: www.pcos.insulitelabs.com  to read about the relationship between insulin and PCOS, and also http://www.pcosupport.org for support.
