    Re: pcos

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is biochemically associated with elevated luteinising hormone, elevated androgens and insulin resistance/hyperinsulinaemia contributing in obesity, oligomenorrhea, acne and hirsuitism.

You should think of tackling your insulin resistance first of all; once it's managed, the rest of the hormones will be triggered into the balance.

Try Insinase (of Metagenics) available from Nutri (www.nutri-online.co.uk) one tablet three times daily for three months, and you will notice reduction in your sugar cravings and appetite suppression.

    Good luck.

    Re: pcos

to help with insulin resitance, take chromium 200mcg 3 times daily with meals. Have regular snacks in between meals of slow burning carbs and always protein with every meal/snack and have a brisk 30 minute walk daily, even 3 10 minute walks will help. it's all about balancing your blood sugar, avoid high sugar foods, stick with the slow burners, whole grains and get most of your carbs from vegetables and salad. apples and pears and dark fruits are ok but avoid bananas, dates and dried fruit as they're fast burners. find out about low glycaemic index or glycaemic load foods and diets. all this will definitely help with weight loss. good luck and gain control over your condition

    Re: pcos

I am a medical nutritionist and have had PCOS since I was 14. I have tried without success to deal with this awful condition for years. Over the past couple of years I have studied every bit of research I could put my hands on and have just written it all up into a PCOS programme. I have put this is an e-book called Help I've Got...PCOS on my website at www.purehealthclinic.co.uk. It seems to be working for me and most of the patients I've given it to - no guarantees obviously, but may be worth a shot. I hope it helps. Apologies if this feels like a sales pitch; I genuinely have wanted to pass the knowledge I gleaned on, but I do still have to pay my mortgage!

    Re: pcos

Dr. Reckeweg R38 & R39 are small bottles of liquid that you drink ...One is for the right ovary , the other for the left ovary ...Usually within three days of drinking either one , the cyst falls out , or cysts fall out , usually when you go to the bathroom - they look like tapioca pudding ...Depending on how many there are , repeat treatment until you feel they are all gone & you have corrected ...Signs that you are clear are no pain during intercourse , your body returns to a normal unbloated looking weight , your normal sex drive returns , you feel better ...It cost me about 25 dollars per bottle & I still order it when I think there is still a cyst lurking ...& yes , it is different for right versus left ...this could save your life - great product ...( the holistic pharmacy in North Carolina sells this online & will ship)...(oh & ultrasounds won't show cysts usually cause they are too small- so doctors will tell you that you are 'normal' , even if you know different...)

    Re: pcos

    Hi Isgsari,

I think I may have had this problem for years as after the birth of my son was told I had a cyst on my ovary.  It was never followed up, but I have had bloating much of my life and my sex drive is non existent!

Are these remedies safe as they seem worth a try?

I have had no luck in finding the company you mention.  Please give me more info.

    Many thanks, Sue.

    Re: pcos

I had pcos and all related problems.  My own doctor's only solution was to take the pill, which I was not prepared to do.  The last few years have been a journey to try and correct my body holistically.  I found a book called the PCOS Diet by Colette Harris extremely helpful.  It helps you understand what's going on in your body and how to control it through what you eat.  I also saw a herbalist/acupuncturist based in London called Stefan Chmelik who got my hormones under control - an improvement I was able to track over the months by taking my temperature daily.  I am now extremely careful about what I eat and also about what I put on my skin and what cleaning products etc I have in the house as any toxins become a problem for your body to deal with and overtax the system.  Recently I found a liver detox (daily intake of lemon and olive oil) and then a gall bladder detox extremely productive but I would suggest seeking supervision from a recommended holistic doctor.  I a now nearly back to my normal weight and shape after all the above (plus other explored avenues, mineral and vitamin supplements, yoga, patience etc etc) and more importantly my energy levels are much improved.

Hope you find this helpful.  Good luck.

    Re: pcos

    Hi Ladine,

hormones can affect everyone in totally different ways & someone with PCOS can be totally different to someone else with the same condition. What is your relationship like with food?

My suggestion would be to seek a homeopath in your area who can take the details of your case & give you specific remedies to help with it or have a look on my website about the energetic hair testing that we do. Any imbalances are identified, remedies for which are then sent after a telephone consultation with myself.

    Best wishes,

    Re: pcos

What concerns me is that you say weight loss.  PCOS normally is associated with weight gain, not weight loss.  How was your PCOS diagnosed? Did you have a laporoscopy done? Did you have an ultra sound scan done? I think that you need to have an ultra sound done of the ovaries and uterus as soon as possible with a full pelvic examination and blood tests.  Weight loss can be associated with other metoblic disorders like an over active thyroid or under secretion of the adrenal glands. Weight loss is also a symptoms of cancer of the ovaries. I don't mean to be an alarmist but I think you need to ensure asap you have a proper and correct diagnosis in the first place before assuming the weight loss is due to PCOS.

    Re: pcos

In reponse to Isgsari and the cyst treatment she is taking in two diffent bottles, one for each ovary: I was wondering where the cysts fall out from? It is not possible that they can fall out of the rectum when you move your bowels as the ovaries are held in by liagments outside of the colon wall and cannot drain into the colon from the outside. Or do they fall out of the vagina? If that is the case they must come down the fallopian tube - which seems doubtful as it would be too small - and then out of the uterus. Unless they drain into the fallopian tubes and then the liquid comes out of the vagina. I am glad these remedies have helped you but the explanation does not seem to be anatomically possible. Is there a site I can read more about this?
