Hi Katie,
Rice milk is a processed product and has a long shelf life in those tetra packs.
"Added Vitamins" are always very poor quality or synthetic.
Ingested cholesterol has zero effect on blood cholesterol levels....stress and inflamation are the major causes of raised cholesterol.
My question to you would be "why do you need to drink milk anyway"?
Humans evolved for millions of years without milk.
If you just happen to like "milky" products my advice would be to buy the best organic product you can find with the least amount of ingredients on the label...avoiding "added vits or fortified with" products.
I would caution against RELYING on rice/nut milks,or any milk, for your daily nutrition.
If you really like them, then drink them, but bear in mind that as processed products they are potentially not improving your health.
In his book Nutrition and Physical Degeneration,Weston Price states that processed white rice was one of the foods that cause much of the nutritional deficiencies and resulting diseases in man...rice milk is made from the same stuff.
That wheat free snack sounds nice though!!!
