    sprained ankle

My husband sprained his ankle very badly about two months ago.  It continues to be very painful and stiff and he feels like he easily re-injures it.  We have tried traumeel and arnica - both internally and externally.  It helps but doesn't offer significant relief.  Any suggestions for natural ways to help with this issue?

    Re: sprained ankle

Hi, I just posted a topic on muscle pain. I badly sprained my wrist and used magnetic therepy. This consists of a magnetic pad on each side of the wrist (or ankle in your husband's case) held in place with an elastic velcro strip. After only one day it worked and I was able to move my wrist without pain. I kept it on the next day just to make sure and I was totally pain free. I was a skeptic up until then. Now I'm a convert to it. I don't know where you can get these in the UK (I live in US) but if you do a search for 'magnetic therapy' you'll come across a source. I was amazed.

Thank you - we will try using the magnetic support immediately!

    Re: sprained ankle

Hopefully your ankle is better by now 4 months down the track - however for some reason ankle sprains seem to go on for a log time, possibly because the swelling and fluid does not seem to circulate away as it doesn in other parts of the body, the Arnica and Traumeel should have helped by now but otherwise hot and cold soaking - especially if you can find some of that wonderful Miracle II soap and Neuraliser to put in the water and then a hard massage. We are assuming that X-rays have shown that there are no bones out of place, dislocated or broken?
