    Arthiritis

My husband has recently discovered that two of his fingers on his left arm quite stiff - specially the first thing in the morning and of course it hurts.

As suggested by a friend he has started taking honey, cider vinegar.

Can anyone help with suggestions and also to let us know if the above mixture is helpful in anyway. We would prefer not to go to the GP knowing he will have to swallow many pills.

    Thank you

    Re: Arthiritis

Lesley, I would not advise anyone to follow the advice on the Serrapeptase Web page highlighted by your good self; for example, I would avoid fish oils which contrary to the cherished views so many have about this product it has its downside in particular that it suppresses the immune system plus a couple of other known harmful features. Take Serrapeptase at a daily dosage of 40,000 units or its equivalent. Once a day should be sufficient but more often if found necessary. Not only does it require to be taken on an empty stomach but that nothing should be taken for a hour afterwards (except water) for it to work its magic. How many of us can admit to having an empty stomach 3 times each day? Hence reason for taking it once daily. Do not take Hemp seed oil either nor any vegetable oils which are polyunsaturated and interfere with one's immunity.

What I would recommend in addition to the Serrapeptase is the nutrient CO-Q10 at between 100-600 mgs daily but again, contrary to popular belief don't buy the capsules filled with polyunsaturated oils; buy the dry filled capsules and take with a little saturated fat which is not only beneficial but is not harmful. CO-Q10 gives a boost to the body's healing processes in addition to boosting energy (see www.iherb.com for dry powder-filled caps).

I would agree to the olive leaf extract but also try taking some coconut both which are synergistic. Other substances would be either, or both, pine bark or grape seed extract. Forget about the water, simply drink when thirsty. Look closely at any soaps, deoderants, parfumes, or creams that one might regularly use on the body as they frequently contain many poisons. It would be best to use products made entirely from natural substances which can often be obtained from HFS.

The saturated fat from meat, especially lamb, mutton, and Scottish beef are about the best as they are mainly meadow fed throughout the year so are close to organic. The fat, as has been said, is the body's natural fuel for energy. Its potential to clog arteries is not nearly as great as that of polyunsaturated fat, indeed, it is believed that it clogs arteries only in the presence of carbohydrates. Saturated fat provides the body with cholesterol which is essential in providing the hormones that provides good health and that feel-good factor which serves to prove how much the public has been conned!

Carbohydrates are believed to be the cause of arthritis and it certainly causes gout which I know whenever I overload. Ramp-down on the carbs (but it's not necessary to stop them) and take them just occasionally as a treat. Better to keep a check on one's blood sugar levels than on blood pressure. Consistently high BS levels subsequently trigger diabetes or diabetic related health problems.

Follow this advice to grow old gracefully and painlessly and enjoy those streaky-bacon and eggs fried in dripping for breakfast every morning!

Here's a couple of other features that should interest arthritis suffers: Google for 'Wulzen Factor' to see what it says. Recall too the adverse effect the innocent spud has on cramp. If you like your chips then use parsnips rather than potatoes fried in deliciously tasting dripping. Finally, Google for goitrogenic foods (for information purposes only).

    Enjoy the remaining food choices!

Hi Jennings, I am still very perlexed over the Omega 3 debate.

Mercola advocates them does he not: http://www.mercola.com/2001/sep/8/omega_3.htm

And when tested by kinesiologists they are needed.  I bought the book 'Fats that heal fats that kill' and nowhere in there does it say we do not need it.  Surely an essential oil is just that, an essential oil.  Look forward to your explanation as I am just not getting it..........

I'm disappointed there is no answer to this yet.  Have you gone on holiday Jennings????  I am not challenging you, I am genuinely interested as I have stopped taking my Star Flower (omege 6) and am wary about my fish oils now too so would like to sort this out in my head as soon as possible.
