    Pityriasis Rosea

    Hi,

My four year old daughter has had this now for six weeks (the herald patch first appeared about eight weeks ago). After the first couple of weeks it looked like it was travelling up her body and her lower body was free from spots but then it came all over, her back has the classic 'christmas tree' pattern, her legs and arms have random spots (although it looks like excema in her elbows which is fading with hydrocortisone), her neck is completely covered and looks scaly, her ears and eyebrows are scabby and her head looks like cradle cap. She is having anti-histamine medicine before bed to help and calamine lotion applied all over to help ease the itching. Is there anything I can do? She is completely happy and healthy otherwise.

    Many thanks in advance,

    Lucy.

Bless her, how distressing for you all.  If it were my child I would look at her diet and make sure she had nothing processed or any additives.  Good pure natural food.  I would probably try cutting out things like dairy but make sure you have goats milk instead.  Just had a quick look through this site http://experience.patient.co.uk/discussion_list.php?d=45 you may find it helpful.

I would also go and see a homeopathic practitioner and a kinesiologist who would be able to get to the cause of it i.e. emotional, nutrition, intolerence etc.
