Hi - got your frustration in spades!
Just Google Addisons and click on any site for an explanation. It is what you apparently have - low cortisol. I would advise you Google the two drugs you're taking and keep an eye on the side effects so you can react immediately instead of having them creep up on you.
Paste the below website for info on Leptin. I include the 'Leptin Diet' that's advised.
http://www.byronrichards.com/index.php/thyroid_leptin/entry/leptin_thyroid_and_weight_loss/
Rule 1: Never eat after dinner.
Rule 2: Eat three meals a day (do not snack).
Rule 3: Do not eat large meals.
Rule 4: Eat a breakfast containing protein.
Rule 5: Reduce the amount of carbohydrates eaten.
What you have is essentially an imbalance in your endocrine system. Your doctor is only a specialist in what she knows - drug therapy and some clinical facts.
I'm guessing, but this could have been provoked by parasites or a hidden virus. I also don't know where you are, but for some 'internal' answers, i.e. from the Innate Intelligence that runs our body/mind functions, you could look at: www.bodytalksystem.com Click on Practitioners and find someone in your country and closest to you. If there is no-one nearby, you can get a distance healing from somebody (just read their bio).
You could also click on Videos (at the top of the Home page) and click on the bottom one entitled 'How to Do The Cortises', which takes 2 minutes and goes a long, long way to reducing emotional and physical stress while you're sorting this out.
Good luck
