She is slowly going quite mad with the discomfort and is now experiencing severe deperssion as to date no one has been able to daignose what is causing this problem , much less what the solution is . I have seen some research on the net that indicates that perhaps gene abnormailty has something to do with it ? I woudl be most interested to hear if anyone has experience similar problems and wha , if anything , they have been able to do towards resolving the problem .

Re: Itchy skin

Since electrosensitivity and multiple chemical sensitivity very often go together I agree with what Richard is saying.

I have been avoiding everything I can - tap water, no swimming, chemicals emr etc etc and am now feeling the benefits. Bathing in goat's milk is thought to be beneficial for pregnant women, where tap water can increase the chance of birthdefects or cancer.

It could be electrosensitivity which means avoiding mobiles, DECt phones, w-fi, microwave ovens, satellite receivers, high tension lines and hybrid automobiles.

Re: Itchy skin

Yes, electrosensitivity does cause itchy skin.

My skin has itched for 18 yrs but now I am getting to the root of the problem it is so much better. I do reiki and go to yoga twice a week, so am in fairly healthy condition.

Do you have any suggestions or advice?

Best regards

Summer

Re: Itchy skin

I have been suffering with itchy skin with no rash or visible signs. It can feel like having ants all over my body at times. After someone suggesting a link between the liver and itchy skin I did a little research and wondered if (ironically) it could be to do with skin/nail supplements I was taking - ie Vitamin A. Basically, I have been overloading my system with this vitamin and it has had an almost toxic effect. So, after cutting the vit A supplements out altogether and starting to take Milk Thistle daily, I have noticed a CONSIDERABLE improvement after only ten days. I also cut down on wheat - that seems to bring on itchiness. Lo! I can sit and watch tv of an evening without looking or feeling like I am being attacked by tiny insects.

Re: Itchy skin

How interesting!

I have electro s and have had itchy skin for 18 yrs - chronic fatigue!

Stay away from emrs and take chlorella and symptoms have improved within a week!!

Brain fog gone and senses shrper.

Adrienne

Re: Itchy skin

Unfortunately for some people - even when they stop taking orthodox medication - especially some types of anti-hypertensives, the itching doesn't stop. Detox of the liver, drinking pure water - at least 2 litres a day - and ensuring that the patient uses soaps, shampoos and detergents which contain no harmful chemicals eventually will calm the skin to a less agitated state. It is certainly worth checking out Miracle II products for this lady, the soothing detoxifying effect that these product have is worth the effort. They should be available in most countries and using google to locate a distributor or supplier should help. Diet is important too and until the itching stops a healthy vegetarian diet with no alcohol or cigarettes would be most beneficial.

Jane

Re: Itchy skin

Since an itchy skin can be the result of the body trying to throw off toxins (most often the case) using detox patches on the feet can really help. I proved this with my ageing father.
Re: Itchy skin

Thank you so much everyone who has posted here; I'm really grateful. Hope I'm replying in a place where you can all receive my thanks!

It's my Mum - and she has tried a couple of complementary therapies including homoepathic sulpher; nutritional supplements etc. to some effect (though she won't admit it!) The itching is now only on her head rather than on her whole body.

Tried the bottled water - no good.

No new carpets; no change in lotions and creams. She has spent over £400 now on alternatives and dermatologists and is unwilling to cough up more 'for things that don't work' (which tells you her state of mind!)

I have suggested she talks to the doctor about blood pressure tablets. That may well be it.

She won't consider anything that would deal with emotions - which I'm sure must be at the root of it, although she's actually happier now than she ever has been in her life. Won't go to homeopath either (the sulpher came from my stocks). Doesn't believe in kinesiology etc. so no way I can get her to one...wish I could!

So I think we are at an impasse...She's got a lot of Leo in her chart so she won't be 'told' ! The process gets amazing results for allergies of all types, and can help you find out what may be causing your itching and then rid your body of the problem. I highly recommend it. My sister was born with Eczema and her body had been covered in it for all of her 30 years of life, until she started seeing an NAET practitioner, now she is totally free of it, her skin has healed. You can find a practitioner in your country or state by looking up the website www.naet.com and clicking on the "Locate a practitioner" link.

Good luck with it :-)

Positive thoughts
Debs Levey, Sydney NSW

Itchy skin

Not sure what you mean by "mites". What you describe and the treatment you were eventually given, seem to indicate that what you had was "scabies". Yes, these are tiny mites that burrow under the skin and lay eggs. It's the eggs hatching and the larvae burrowing out that causes the dreadful itching. My mother-in-law (now 85) had it two years ago and suffered for months, having been given all sorts of useless emollient creams and told she was exaggerating the symptoms, before it was finally properly diagnosed by a dermatologist. But since the sufferer here has been to dermatologist, I hope that they would have checked for scabies and ruled it out. Worth asking, perhaps? And if so, it will take more than just one application of the special lotion, at least two, at a specified interval to make sure that the hatchlings are killed as well. Even so, it takes time for the itching to disappear completely, months more than weeks, in my mother-in-law's case.

Hope she finds the cause and gets some relief from the itching soon.
