I haven't tried this, but perhaps you should be aware that conventional doctors mostly think it is very unlikely indeed that sodium bicarbonate could possibly cure cancer. In fact in animal studies it has made tumors grow faster. Conventional oncologists have examined millions of tumors, and they are definitely not made of fungus.
Dr Simoncini was convicted of fraud and homicide in Italy, and has been banned from practicing medicine there for life. He seems to leave a trail of dead patients behind him wherever he goes, though these days he does not treat patients, but tells them how to treat themselves. Please do plenty of research into this before you put any confidence in it working. I suggest reading the following pages before you make any decisions about your health.

advocates a diet that makes the ph more acid rather than alkaline. The rational for this is because of the action and role of PFK, which I think is phosphofructokinase, within the metabolic cycle of the cancer cell. This cycle which allows cancer cells to take up energy and utilise it in order to synthesize their DNA can be suppressed in several ways, thereby diminishing the energy source of the cells and decreasing the size of the tumour. (I had verifiable results of this action, as my lesions shrunk on this diet and my colon which showed signs of the cancer returning became healthy again).

When you attack the cycle of glycolysis which incorporates PFK, as I understand it and please correct me if I am have got anything wrong, you can do this in several ways: by cutting the energy supply of sugar, of changing the PH to acid in order to interfere with the way in which the enzyme PFK functions to support the growth of tumourous cells. I used 2 tablespoons of white vinegar twice a day as an important part of my treatment as had excellent results as outlined above.

So in my experience and understanding an acid environment in conjunction with the other modalities employed in the CAAT diet are effective tools in reducing the growth of cancerous cells.

Yes I agree it is a very good idea to do research even if you do not have cancer.

You never know if/when it might strike and then you have no time to think & get sucked into the system.

The Alkaline way of living definitely makes sense. I did an alkaline detox some months ago and lost 9 inches in a week and, more to the point, felt wonderful. Aches and pains went and my body felt much looser. I subscribe to Dr Robert Young's books about the pH Balance but also have recently come across "Great Taste No Pain" by Sherry Brescia (online). This food combining way of eating is very focussed towards the alkaline/acid balance and is much more "user friendly" than the extremely strict Alkaline Diet.

I am not suffering from any illness, but surely this can only be a positive effect for any body. No chemicals, just sensible and informed eating.

I've also read Phillip Day's books and been to some of his lectures, he is a brilliant speaker and talks a lot of sense.

The alkalised water dfedwards is talking about was originally called Kangen Water from Japan but there are a few companies marketing it now. Some are multi level marketers so, if you are thinking of buying a unit be careful and do your research. This man is saying Kangen water is not the best, it's only a trade name which means "return to origin".

I THINK the Doctor originally associated with Kangen water was Dr Hiromi Shinya, MD who was born in Japan, emigrated to the US and now spends six months in the States and six months in Japan where he still practises medicine. He seems to be a very humble man. I am currently reading his book "The Enzyme Factor" which gives a "Diet for the Future that will prevent heart disease, cure cancer, stop type 2 diabetes".

Google "Kangen water" and "Hiromi Shinya", there is lots of info on the web including uTube, some very graphic stuff showing the insides of different colons, ugh.

I have read that cancer cannot survive in an alkaline environment and, of course, soda bicarbonate is alkaline.

With reference to acid/alkaline balance in the body and its impact on health, I would recommend The PH Miracle by Robert O Young. On the same subject there are units on the market which can produce alkalized[?] water from tap water.

I have heard this before about the Italian doctor who cures cancer with Sodium bicarbonate. It would be great to think it could do that. Have you looked on Doctor Mercola's site "www.mercola.com" This is a brilliant site that gives lots of information. He is a medical doctor who went over to complementary medicine. If you put in "sodium bicarbonate" or "bicarbonate of Soda" into the Search on this site a lot of info comes up. This one is particularly good:

Pleased to 'meet' you, Adrienne - I've had chronic fatigue for 34 years now, & am only just beginning to realise how connected it is to my hypothyroidism. (Previously I had considered the thyroid problem to be minor, compared with everything else I had going on!)

I too am very interested in this forum topic, as I am waiting on a final diagnosis on two different fronts as to whether I have cancer. [One lot of tests was repeated the week before Christmas, when the radiologist told me to go directly to the specialist & get myself "expedited up the list"! All very well, but the specialist was already gone for Christmas & summer holidays....& then we found my Dr's referral - made early in 2008 - had never arrived & I wasn't even on the list anyway! By which time my Dr was also gone for a lengthy holiday break....] The other area being investigated is also running into problems, so in the meantime I am trying to get prepared for any eventuality.

Keep up the research - I think it is up to us to help ourselves now, sharing it with other like-minds, rather than relying on Drs as in the past.

I have come across several alt cancer treatments. I do not have cancer but have had chronic fatigue for 18 years which I think has actually been hypothyroidism - test is low.

My research has made me look and think what I would do if the situation arose.

Budwig Protocol (tried & tested in Germany) an interesting one and also high dose vit C intravenously along with iodine.

I think now that I would opt for all of these rather than chemo as I am certain I would die of the chemo!!

I think I read somewhere that UK has one of the lowest survival rates in Europe!
