According to TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), nothing can replenish the iron deficiency better than eating liver. You can cook them with onions and make any delicious recipes, must be eaten at least 3 times a week and must be ORGANIC !!! Many of my patients in Japan have recovered from anaemia within 5 weeks when they included liver 3 times a week into their diet. Also, I would suggest to do hair analysis and see how is your toxicity/heavy metals and other mineral balance. There could be other elements which are causing bad iron metabolism. It is worth trying. Smokey Laboratories in the USA can do accurate hair analysis which will give you pretty good picture what is causing the iron not being absorbed.
