    Mucous membrane pemphigoid

    A reader has just been diagnosed with mucous membrane pemphigoid (MMP), an autoimmune disorder characterised by blistering lesions that primarily affect the various mucous membranes of the body. She is keen to avoid the standard treatment of steroids if possible. Does anyone have suggestions for this disease, or for autoimmune diseases in general, she asks?
