Hi Karolina,
Most psychotherapy is ineffective because it is based on a false premise: feelings follow thoughts. Actually, feelings and thoughts are experienced in two separate parts of the brain: feelings in the innermost (and earliest forming) part of the brain called the limbic system, while thoughts occur in the massive outer parts of the brain collectively called the: neocortex. In our experience of life, these two are fused together into a seamless whole.
However, it is the inner emotional core of our brain that directs our attention, awareness, mood, motivation, and our emotional experience of life. And, most therapeutic modalities fail to produce significant change there because the neocortex is dominant, and so they just “paper over” the foundational personality problems that are imprinted in the emotional center of the brain before we are born. Yes, foundational personality patterns are imprinted in the inner core of our brain in a neurochemical code before we are born. After we are born, our limbic system is programmed to seek out experiences that produce the same emotional "soup" that we shared with our mother when we were in the womb.
There is a new science and methodology called: PreNatal Re-Imprinting (PNRI) that is able to reach the inner core of the brain and re-imprint positive patterns over maladaptive patterns. And in my four-years of experience with PNRI, I have seen it produce rapid and lasting change to severe personality problems. I find PNRI much more effective than EFT, for example. For more information go to: www.pnri.net
Since most PNRI practitioners are located in or near Dallas, Texas, I have produced a self-help personality transformation audio program called Transforming Dragons, in order to help those who can’t travel to Dallas. See: www.transformingdragons.com/ There are many free audio files that can be downloaded there.
