Re: Swollen left leg and foot

Hi, I am a practising complementary therapist, and I am shocked that the GP wasn't more concerned!  In the first instance I would recommend that they go back to their GP again just to make sure.

If everything is ok, then I find that reflexology always helps swollen ankles, feet and legs (as this is normally due to fluid retention).  Also your neighbour should make sure that they drink plenty of water (to flush toxins out of their system) and also take walking exercise during the day to keep any lymph build up in their bodies moving.

    Hope this helps.

Re: Swollen left leg and foot

    Hi Angie,

I have had a left swollen foot now for almost a year. I have had several test run including kidneys, heart, BP, etc. I was then sent to a Poditrist who said I had a stress fracture, after 12 weeks in a boot, still had swollen foot, had artrial doppler done that test came back clean. I found a new Dr. who now believes after reviewing all my xrays that I never had a stress fracture to begin with and doesn't know why my foot is still swollen, I have also tried the compression socks. By the end of the day my foot is just as swollen as if I never had it on. I am willing to try anything at this point so if you have any suggestions please let me know. I would really like to wear my real shoes again! lol.

Re: Swollen left leg and foot

Hi Anton - I have had a swollen left foot ever since having my first child, (45 years ago) it never gets any less swollen except when I first get up but is swollen by the time I have made the tea.  Very frustrating as I cant get shoes that will fit both feet, doctor gave me an elastic stocking but that is not useful, I dont suffer with high blood pressure and lead a fairly active life so if your exercise works that would be great thanks in advance
