I have been asked by a hospital specialist to have a bone marrow biopsy and an MRI scan I have beome increasingly bothered by the bone marrow biopsy as it is an invasive painful treatment and I would like to know if it is absolutely necessary  and are there any risks attached?or will the scan tell the same story??  I have not yet had a diagnosis of cancer just a para protein has shown up in a blood sample

I would appreciate an urgent reply as the test is tomorrow if I go ahead with it
