    Dear Arlene

This sounds like such a familiar story. My father had the exact same problem as you and also took the triple therapy. Unfortunately he had side effects from all proton pump inhibitors so in the end gave up taking them. I suggested he should take high quality Aloe Vera Juice e.g. from a company called Neways and he did. He said it was the first time in years where he did not feel the pain. Another thing you can take is Noni Juice. These alkalise the body and they are also natural pain killers. They numb the pain receptors and also boost the body' immune system so it can help itself. Google Noni and you get about 6 million hits !! I know lots of people who take Noni with tremendous benefits. Dr Neil Solomon M.D, PhD has also done loads research into this product.

The problem about taking PPIs like Lansoprazole is that it pre-disposes you to other infections such as C.Difficle and even cancer (www.canceractive.com)! We need acid in the body to kill bacteria, parasites and other nasties. Suppressing acid secretion strips down the body's immunity in the bowel to many foreign invaders and serves the body not good in the long term.

    other measures

    - Garlic !! www.credence.org for the excellent quality allicin capsule/sprays. Natural anti-everything.

    - astragalus, echinacea

    - Manuka honey - natural antibacterial. Get (manuka factor) MF 15 or above

    - see in www.whfoods.org for food you should eat for H. Pylori

    www.mercola.com

    www.healthyinfo.co.uk

www.neways.co.uk - noni, aloe vera etc. maximol, revenol. Google the net to find a distributor.

You should also consider taking Vi B Complex and a good probiotic if you have had a course of antibiotics. www.nutricentre.com (Biocare, Bioforce, Neways - neways Orachel has vitb complex and vits & minerals also)

    Hope this helps

    Re: H Pylori

I should also metion that you should take a strong probiotic such as Neways Advanced Probiotic which has 3 strains of lactobacillus, the friendly yeast saccharomyes and l-Glutamine which supports the lining of the bowel. It is formulated by a UK doctor who is world figure in Human Nutrition and Neurology. She runs a clinic in cambridge to treat people with gut and bowel problems. In nature we have to use like to treat like. If we want to kill be bad guys, then we need to put in the good guys to crowd them out. I have loads of info on this if you like, just email me.

    Re: H Pylori

Arlene, I was also diagnosed with H Pylori (Helicobactor) several months ago. This was diagnosis was confirmed with a Clinpath C14 test. I was tested again after completing the courses of antibiotics and the H Pylori had gone.  What I have found is a new product called Lacto-Flora that was released in February 2008 in Brisbane.  This is a synbiotic pre and pro biotic concentrate that is having amazing wide ranging benefits for many health issues including ours. (It helps to maintain anaptimum balance of beneficial bacteria within the large intestine).   If you are interested in any more information about this product and its action I will be happy to send you relevant fact sheets.  Jan

    Arlene:

I was diagnosed with H Pylori (Helicobactor) 6 months ago and given the usual triple treatment by the doctor (2 courses of antibiotics and a proton pump inhibitator).  Unfortunately I still don't feel well with pain in my gullet and finding it hard to get a deep breath at times.  I have acid coming up my throat and yet I still take the acid blocking tablets Lansoprazole.  These are not advisable to take long term and I don;t know where to turn, I did approach my doctor but was told to stop fixating on the H Pylori and to keep taking the acid blockers.  Anyone out there had better advice they can share.

    Hi Arlene

I too suffered dreadfully from this condition till I discovered what it was. I found a very good homoeopathic doctor who treated me constitutionally and I have never looked back. I went to her here in Glasgow after having no success with the triple therapy and wished I had gone to her first. Would have saved me 9 months of bowel problem caused by the antibiotics. She sorted that out too.

I also agree with the person who recommended the grapefruitseed extract. It is an absolutely wonderful product which destroys viruses, bacteria and parasites. I don't leave home without it. Also a good diet helps a long way. Cut out most of your animal protein and replace with plant potein and have lots of vegetable and fruit juices. Might not sound apetising but I can assure you some of them are absolutely delicious and my husband, children and grandchildren will second that. It's amazing what you can get the kids to eat when you juice it.

A very good book to read on that subject is Jason Vales.... The Juice Masters Ultimate fast food. A very worthwhile read and lots of good information on diet and health. Very sensible and undertandable.

Good luck in eradication these little parasites

    Re: H Pylori

Your continued discomfort may be associated with other issues. Another post indicated that you should check for hiatal hernia, an idea I completely agree with. A good kinesiologist can check and correct this for you, and also have him/her test your illeo-cecal valve integrity which is often a cause for hiatal hernia. This is because when the valve is not working well (it is the connection point between large and small intestine), it allows the contents of large intestine (waste) to be reabsorbed by small intestine. This causes an auto-toxicity issue and also creates upward pressure which can often cause a portion of the upper stomach to become lodged in the diaphragm's "hiatus" or space between the two sides of the muscle. This will lead to the symptoms you have...the difficult breathing, the acid coming up the throat (the stomach thinks there is protein in there that needs to be digested when there is a hiatal hernia), and a host of other health problems. So, you may wish to contact the Touch for Health Foundation in the UK  to get a referral to a good kinesiologist who can do these manual corrections.

You need to also begin an intensive course of probiotics to help rebalance the flora in the digestive system which gets seriously disrupted by the type of triple course antibiotic regimen you underwent. This, in and of itself, could be causing digestive issues for you.

Finally, get retested for h-pylori. If you cannot get your current Dr to do it, find someone else. If it is still active, you may wish to try an alternative approach using Zinc Carnosine, Glutamine/Deglycerrhized Licorice/Aloe Vera, and the homeopathic nosode for h-pylori infections.

One other piece of information relative to the acidic backwash. You may have low hydrocholoric acid levels or a too alkaline level of stomach acid since you have been on the acid blockers, and this is very common following that type of medication. You need to have your HcL pH be the equivalent of battery acid in a car to digest and disinfect the food you eat. When it is not at that acidity level, it cannot effectively do either. This allows the contents of the stomach to remain there too long becoming a fermented mash which then released this acidic gas and liquid up into the esophagus. A good way to determine if this is a cause of your problem is to take the "zypan" test, which merely refers to a supplement which I use clinically to test HcL levels. It is a hydrocholoric acid supplement. I have my clients take 2 with each meal for 2 days, then increase by 1 with each meal for 2 days, then increase by 1 for 2 days, etc. Once there is sufficient HcL and the pH has been corrected, you will know by a slight burning in the "gut" which tells you to back off by 1 tablet and remain at that level for at least 3 months to correct this deficiency/pH problem.

     Hope this helps.

    Re: H Pylori

My husband had H. Pylori . He also had the antibiotics and although that helped he never really got rid of it. We read somewhere about a product called
'CeaseFire' ( Mastic DGL) dietary supplement, chewable tablets,  that was supposed to get rid of the H. Pylori. completely.
I found it online and bought it. He's been taking it for a short time now and his stomach is very much better.
    It's worth a try.

    Re: H Pylori

    Hello,

My partner was diagnosed with suspected H Pylori about 3years back & we were found out somewhere that the homeopathic remedy for it would work well. We contacted Helios Homeopathic Pharmacy recommended by a homeopathic colleague of mine; Tel 020 7379 7434, & Rob took the remedy they sent us. A few weeks later he went back to the GP who ran further tests & when it came back negative, they questioned whether he had even had any condition at all. He also ate large tablespoons of 15+ manuka honey daily. He was much better....whatever you choose to do, get well soonest....kind regards

    Re: H Pylori

You must consult a nutritional therapist. Probiotics and manuka honey would help, you should try a liver cleanse as well.
