    Re: Panic attacks and tremors

    Dear Sue,

For quite sometime I was displaying the same symptoms as your daughter. To cut a very long story short I must have seen over 50 doctors about this, including GP's, natural health practitioners of every persuasion, psychotherapist, hypnotherapists, counsellors, EFT therapist etc etc. My body kept showing signs of panic and stress where my life had no such stressors in them. The only stress I arguable had was not knowing what was wrong with me - that is hugely stressful. Magnesium and BVitamins as well as Essential Fatty Acids kind of lessened the symptoms but it was always there in the background.

Finally after 5 years of hell (and even starting to believe that I was damaged goods) I found a Naturopath who had her thinking hat on and after a couple of very simple tests (mineral check, full thyroid check and Cortisol/adrenal check) - I am in fact NOT full of Candida, NOT saturated in Mercury and Lead, NOT dysbiotic, NOT hypothyroid ... or any of the other long list of rubbish that I was sort of diagnosed with.

I do have extreme adrenal fatigue and am now (finally) on some lovely herbs and supplements and my life is coming back to me.

    My advice:

GET THE FACTS - although there are some great alternative therapies out there the best in my opinion is where east and west meet, where modern and ancient healing come together - A Naturopath does just that : they test you and apply the appropriate therapy.

Wishing your daughter a great recovery:)

    Re: Panic attacks and tremors

I would agree that seeing a naturopatch for a full examination is the first thing to do.

...but without going into much details, defficiency of Mg is commonly associated with tremor and twiches. She can supplement good B multi-s and Ca-Mg formula ( Biocare has an excellent one), this should help to calm down the nerves and overall muscle tention.

as for the panic attacs- it is worth talking to a specialist in more depth.

    all the best

    Re: Panic attacks and tremors

A naturopath is a good start.   Make sure they check her liver function.   In my case, I took a Comprehensive Detoxification Test from Genova Diagnostics.   It tests liver function.   One of my liver's metabolic pathways was very slow, and taking supplements to aid this pathway eliminated the panic attacks.

Also have her Vitamin B12 checked, or just try supplementing this.

    Hi Sue,

Something in your last post caught my eye - you say that the "mention of moulds rang a little bell as she has suffered from lichen planus".

I have suffered from anxiety and mild panic attacks for a number of years and am allergic to molds and have been found to have skin lichenification after a biopsy but have never been given any information by a doctor about it.  I also have been diagnosed with (but never treated for) compensated hypothyroidism.

I would be grateful for any information you have connecting moulds and lichen planus.  Thanks.

    Carmel.

    Re: Panic attacks and tremors

    Sue,

I experienced panic attacks when I had put my back out, but didn't realise I had - I felt stiff, tired and wrong, but not particularly in pain. A friend recommended chiropractic treatment and the x-rays confirmed what the chiropracter could feel. I responded amazingly quickly to treatment. Now I recognise when it is out and get it treated asap, so no return of panic attacks.

As your daughter hasn't felt right since the third birth, it is possible her back was affected by it, so I think it is worth her getting it checked over. The Osteopathic Centre for Children recognise the damage to backs done by pregnancy and birth and treat antenatal and postnatal mothers. While they are unlikely to treat your daughter so long after the birth, they would certainly be able to advise her and point her in the direction of osteopaths in her part of the country with specialist training for children/mothers. Osteopaths carry out very similar manipulations to chiropracters on the spine and neck, but also cover other parts of the body.

It is very scary when you are already having panic attacks allowing someone you don't know to start manipulating your body. I think your daughter would find it reassuring if she was given help finding an osteopath in her area by this highly reputable organisation.

When I am feeling mega stressed my hands shake a lot: I wonder if your daughter can identify a pattern around her hands starting to shake.

Others have sent excellent advice around nutrition, etc. and these are worth exploring too. After so long it may be there are several aspects of her health that need tackling.

    Regards,

    Fi

    Re: Panic attacks and tremors

I share the naturopathic belief that the body will balance itself given time.  A consultion with a professional naturopath will clearly help.

However my simple advice would be: ensure a well balanced vegetarian diet, including plenty of vegetables and fruit. Supplement with vegetable and fruit juices as much as possible. A multivitamin/mineral supplement may help. Try a high dose(mainly 50mg) vit B complex tablet for at least 6 months.  If this helps do not stop taking this too rapidly, or symptoms may return temporarily. Kelp is also a cheap and useful supplement.

Moderate regular exercise, with full breathing may also help.

    Re: Panic attacks and tremors

    Hello Sue,

I'm sorry to read about your bad news for the time being. I think your daughter might be suffering with an allergy either to food or something else. Please tell her to avoid drinking coffee. (Prewetts) do a fabulous replacement called Chicory coffee, you can buy this from a health shop. Please see a kinesiologist that works with vega machines or call Pauline on 01293 530 085. I was a patient of hers until I decided to study nutrition and herbalism myself. Is she taking medication? She may be sleeping in a Geopathically Stressed area in the house. THis can weaken the immune system as well and cause many problems within the body. The lady I've used is called Lynn (020 8394 1153). Please call her. I believe that no matter what therapy you do to help yourself, if you are sleeping in one of these areas you will not get better no matter what you do. I do also suggest that she starts taking pea isolate protein (from Lamberts) and aduki beans with a bit of stock cube, blends all of this together and drinks 3-6 mugs per day. This contains all the amino acids most needed and has no fillers or other added ingredients, will help the nervous system and the whole body to rebuild. I believe that she will benefit and she will feel much better. Please buy a top quality Aloe Vera Drinking Gel from Foever Living Products or the leaf from a market and cut a slice of 2cm and scoop out the gel twice a day. I would really like to know how you get on, please let me know. thealoeverawoman@yahoo.co.uk Thank you. All the best Bobby.

Another thing that might help is cognitive therapy.  The Feeling Good Handbook by David Burnes can be purchased on amazon.com and it's one of the best for this.  She can work at home and do the exercises. It's and inexpensive and great way to get effective and immediate help.

    Re: Panic attacks and tremors

While your daughter is trying to find a permanent cure for her panic attacks she should try Rescue Remedy from Bach flower remedies. A few drops under the tongue the moment she starts to feel shaky and panicky will really help to calm her down.
It has helped me often in the past  and I always carry a small bottle with me.
