ARE PRESCRIPTION DRUGS THE LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH?

I was startled to learn that according to an investigation performed by Gary Null (http://www.whale.to/a/null9.html#THE_FIRST_IATROGENIC_STUDY)in association with several medical doctors that the leading cause of death in America may in fact be Iatrogenic Illness.  As defined by Bruce Lipton, PhD (http://www.brucelipton.com/), in his book The Biology of Belief,  Iatrogenic Illness means:  "you go to the doctor with problem A and you are treated and then you die from problem B".  The word iatrogenic literally means "brought forth by a healer".  My mom was treated years ago with prescription drugs after suffering a mild stroke.  Prior to that time she had been on prescription drugs for high blood preassure.  Shorty after the stroke, she died of a heart attack.  The interresting thing to me was that she never had any signs of heart problems.  Years after her death, I heard a news broadcast on the radio saying that if you were taking a certain prescription for high blood pressure, you should not take this certain other prescription drug because it could cause a heat attack.  I don't recall what those two drugs were.  My own instincts have always been to never take any checmicals into the body that are not found there naturally.  Based on that instinct, I have refused all prescription pharmaceuticals and virtually all over the counter drugs as well.  When I feel the need for medication, I temporarily increase my intake of herbs.  I'm now at a point in my life where I get sick very, very seldom and at one point went more than 8 years without being sick one day.  What I'm really concerned about is that the message I'm attempting to provide here is not new.  This information has been known for several years.  Doctors are still prescribing pharmaceuticals and the pharmaceutical companies are producing new and potentially more lethal drugs ever single year.  They are now even advertising them on Television.  How long will it take to get the politicians and the medical community to wake up and stop prescribing problems?  I know, I know, they are all still PRACTICING physcians, right?  Well let them NOT practice with the lives of human beings.  Let them have sense enough to withold new drugs that have any side effects whatsoever.  As Bruce Lipton says in his book and lectures, "They are not side effects!  They are direct effects!".

i think its more than just prescription drugs it is our modern way of life. Things like emf radiation from mobile masts and phones and wi-fi, vaccinations and the toxins in our food also contribute.

All of these factors interact to cause the current epidemic of cancer, autism, schizophrenia, and auto immune disease, multiple chemical sensitivity, moregellons, diseases we couldn't even have imagined fifty years ago.

I have to largely agree with you over the use of drugs by the pharmasutical industry. I get told by my doctors that statins are safe. The usual effects are to increase the risk of cancer, increase the risk of heart desease in some cases, they cause muscle pains and damage and also can cause liver damage.  And that group of drugs are considered 'SAFE' !

Equally a friend was having trouble a while ago, and was on painkillers and another drug.  she was a complete mess and then went down with psycological peoblems.  Since coming off all the drugs she was taking she looks 10 years younger and very much fitter.

On the same subject,  the third biggest killer in the US is reported to be drug interactions. Also the biggest users of 'off label' and 'unliscensed use'  prescription drugs is the hospitals!   The very place people go when they have serious problems.

Look at the cases in America where the some of the  'batterered children' in hospital did not have the injuries when they went in there but where the result of the drugs given to them while they were in hospital.

Thats why I eat mostly vegetarian food, try to keep off most refined food and carbohydrates and  try to keep myself fit.

As a homeopath I occasionly have a new patient in whose symptoms when I look up the medication they are taking are directly attributed to that medication. They don't need a remedy from me- they just need to see their GP about coming off that medication safely. All medication side effects can be checked using the online BNF at http://www.bnf.org

The other thing I see is a patient on drug A which causes damage to another organ so they are given drug B to counteract that. Drug B then causes the breakdown of yet another organ and yet more medication is given!!

Personally I only go near a GP to get a prescription for diabetes blood testing sticks so I can monitor that my blood sugar (type 2 inherited diabetes) continues to be lower than it has ever been purely on a lowcarb/low GI diet and copious amounts of green tea!!!
