    Re: Infertility treatment

It's a bit vague of the doctor to say that your daughter in law 'may not be releasing eggs', surely that can be checked. Some friends of mine had problems for a few years starting a family, she was recommended to keep her lower body upside down for as long as possible after trying and this did the trick.

    Re: Infertility treatment

One of the causes could be the lack of cell to cell communication sometimes caused by the lack of the 8 necessary sugars.  Two of these are in our current diets and the other 6 are not.  Unfortunately the combination of the 8 sugars is patented by a company out of Texas called Mannatech.  The product is called Advanced Ambrotose and has been useful in this situation before.  The product is completely natural sourced.  There are no side effects, unless you are allergic to one of the ingredients.  The science for glycomics is very new and there is often a 5-10% nonresponsive rate.  You may want to contact your local distributor and review the science.  Blessings.

Another course of action is EFT ( emotional freedom technique).  It has a good track record.

    Re: Infertility treatment

It's true that it is a survival mechanism to protect the species that only the strong will procreate. The alternative is that unhealthy parents will give birth to an unhealthy child (there's a lot of that these days). The question is, what is causing your daughter's body to be out of balance. In my experience, many women who struggle to get pregnant do not eat enough good quality fat and protein (normally due to unecessary fear drummed up via the media/government/universities). Dietary fats are required to make sex hormones, including estrogen which helps to make the egg and progesterone to maintain the pregnancy. This will not be the answer in all cases though. We are all biochemically individual and I would suggest seeking help from someone who is able to show clearly show where your daughter's imbalances/weaknesses are and how to re-gain health from the ground up.

One thing to look at in both prospective parents is mercury.   If either "Parent" has dental amalgam fillings, the release of mercury from the fillings can affect fertility.    Have the fillings properly replaced by a mercury free dentist and then, when they have all gone, wait 6 months before trying again.

    Re: Infertility treatment

Don't want to add too much to the confusing array of advice you have been given, all which has worked for different people. I have read somewhere that the leading cause of unexplained infertility is stressing over trying to become pregnant. In this case things like yoga and acupuncture work well, as well as a good romantic holiday.

Nutritional deficiencies can also make conception very difficult (even if the deficiency is minor) and if the Foresight program offers mineral testing then this might be a good choice. The quick method would be to take a quality nutritional supplement, most companies do an antenatal formula for those trying to conceive. As your periods are irregular, this may be an indication that there is an imbalance either in nutrients or hormones. I have to second Marilyn Glenville's book. Vitex agnus castus is a herb that is supposed to help in regulating periods.

There are plenty of natural methods for restoring fertility. Do a little research and best of luck.

Your daughter should contact " FORESIGHT - The Assocation for Pre-Conceptual Care."    They are a not for profit group who have been helping with infertility & miscarriage etc. for around 30 years.  They use natural methods such as recommending organic fruit and veg. and natural health supplements and cutting exposure to pollution for both men and women.   They have success where high-tech methods have failed.  Visit:  www.foresight-preconception.org.uk   They also send out a mag. with all the photos of babies which couples thought they'd never have.

    Re: Infertility treatment

I had very nearly given up. I had three miscarriages before having my daughter.. This pregnancy was probably saved due to very bad morning sickness from very early on until I was about 4 months pregnant. Hense very little to eat other than dry toast and ginger biscuits. years of miscarriages followed but my son came along 8 and half years later. I found out thorough a vitamin and mineral analysis (hair test) that I was deficient in several of these and so was my husband. We both supplemented as advised for 6 months, retested, followed advice again and felt much healthier.

The test also revealed that I was severely intolerant to lactose. This was taken out of my diet totally for a whole year prior to trying for a baby again. One year later at the first attempt. I fell pregnant and this time my body was in tip top shape and it was a fantastic pregnancy.

My advice to your daughter is to look at her and her partners health. They may approach a professional body to help them with this but we took the tests and then acted upon them.  The doctor had me take my temperature with a fertility themometer and he tracked my ovulation with blood tests but your daughter will need to get her periods regular first. She may need to look at her weight and body mass index to get this well balanced.

I wish her all the best as I know the hunger so well.

    Re: Infertility treatment

I have just gone through this with my daughter in law, she was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).  This basically means that the ovaries are not releasing the eggs and they form cysts.  These individuals will have excessive amounts of testosterone, possible thyroid issues and blood sugar issues.  If she does have PCOS, it is multifaceted, there are many systems of the body that are involved.

My daughter in law found the medical community to be very negative about this issue.  We found a naturopath that worked with her and she is now pregnant with twins.

    Re: Infertility treatment

I also had this problem - PCOS causing irregular ovulation. The first thing to do is find out for sure if she is ovulating or not. This is simple - learn the Fertilty Awareness Method from the book Taking Charge Of Your Fertility by Toni WEschler, or check out www.tcoyf.com and it teaches you to track and interpret your own cycles no matter how long they are. Once she knows if she is ovulating or not, she'll then be able to take it further with whatever natural or medical treatment that seems appropriate. It could simply be that because she has long and irregular cycles she is not targeting the right day.

    Re: Infertility treatment

My friend had been trying for a baby for 24 years.  She is 46 now.  She also has endemetriosis.  I gave her 6 Bowen treatments and 10 days after last treatment she got pregnant - first time they had ever got pregnant without IVF.  She is now 21 weeks and all is well.  Obviously, we are all thrilled.

A Bowen Technique colleague emailed me yesterday to say that one of her clients, age 32, has been trying for 4 years, ready for IVF in 2 months.  Been having Bowen for 5 months and is now pregnant.

    Re: Infertility treatment

It may be worth considering the following:

Zita West - have a look at her website www.zitawest.com for info. She has some books which are very useful, a relaxation CD and nutritional supplements Vitafem and Vital DHA for women, Vitamen and Vital DHA for men.

Acupuncture - It would also likely be useful for your daughter to consider acupuncture as this can help to make periods more regular and an acupuncturist can look at her diet and lifestyle and give advice. Check www.acupuncture.org.uk and also www.zitawest.com

Clearblue Fertility Monitor - using this device many help your daughter work out her fertile window each month as well as looking for signs of fertile mucous www.clearblue.info/uk/

Tests - it is worth ensuring she has appropriate tests done to see if there are any problems e.g. iron, thyroid, FSH, LH, progesterone, prolactin, testosterone etc Also perhaps a scan of her uterus would at least be a place to start. It is also worth her partner having a semen analysis to see if he is ok.

Avoiding items such as caffeine, OTC drugs etc and discuss with her GP if she or her partner are taking any prescribed drugs that interfere with fertility

Ensure she is not over or under weight.
