A natural alternative which could help your mother is Argenix which is a liquid product that contains the Amino Acid Arginine.

Arginine is a naturally occurring amino acid which the body converts to nitric oxide, this can help blood vessels to remain open and increases blood flow which can support a healthly cardiovascular system.

    Re: High blood pressure

I have had good results with Mukta Vati also.  Having been labelled as a 'non-compliant patient' by my GP practice for not taking beta blockers, etc, 2 years after having been diagnosed with high blood pressure and high cholesterol, my recent blood pressure reading was 130/80, which is acceptable at 54. Cholesterol values are also in the normal range.  there's one more blood test outstanding for vitamin K, the levels of which are slightly elevated.  I'll get around to that sometime, after trying to figure out what elevates this, and more importantly, what I can do to lower it without resorting to conventional medicine.

    Re: High blood pressure

Non-compliant, eh? We have ways of making you conform! Europe fought two major wars last century to stamp-out fascism yet today's evidence indicates that we dismally failed; Hitler is certainly not dead but the public memory is indeed short! Belligerence is the better name for primary care GPs who used to be known more familiarly as family GPs; I wonder what dumb-dumb decided to change it? Lots of change but no improvement except for the salaries and conditions of service of medics. Someone once told me medicine was a vocational career; I wonder what was meant by this?

Your blood-clotting vitamin K (which, in this fascist system of so-called socialism, is administered to all new born babies but who really cares? Harold Shipman is another who is not yet dead) tends to rise with advancing age and there is some indication that it might be helpful to the elderly. If you are afriad of your blood clotting then take the enzyme Serrapeptase (generic name) which is sold OTC in HFS (cheaper on the Internet) and which is excellent at clearing plaque and other dead tissue from the body (no need for by-passes but the cardiac physcians and surgeons keep this a secret). The greatest feature about this product is that you don't need to go cap-in-hand to plead with the GP for a prescription. Not having the freedom to purchase whatever one wishes from a pharmisct is another sign of this fascist State in which we are obliged to conform or else we are stigmatised with the reputation, NON-COMPLIANT!

Yes,Sir!                                                                                                                                                                                                         Click your heels boy when you speak to me!

(Just someone who views society from outside the box)!

    Hi

I am in my early 60's and have suffered from HBP since the menopause. I am convinced it is genetic, as both my mother and her own mother have (had) the same condition. I have found an ayurvedic herbal remedy that truly works. It is called 'Muktavati'. Works much better and without side effects than most pills I have been prescribed by my GP. You can buy Muktavati on the Internet, by typing in that name on a search engine. Hope it helps your mother, as it has helped me.

    Re: High blood pressure

Not having any other 'background' to yourself I can only recommend that you either use: Garlic capsules with every meal or better still, grind fresh Garlic into/on top of your meals. Do it like people do with a salt shaker, only use Garlic in the same way. It will reduce Blood Pressure and assist in lowering Cholesterol levels also. I can only recommend that you have a competent nutritionist evaluate your personal eating plan - please note that I do not say Diet, as NO ONE can stay on one, they only short change you and aren't worth a lot in the long run.  Also, try to stay off coffee and do not purchase/use decaf-coffee and in keeping with caffeine , if you do like to drink Tea and use tea bags and not the real thing (loose leaf te), let it stand for no more than 35 secomnds and remove the bag without squeezing it and you will have no caffeine in your tea. ok? This is mentioned only to assist your body to breakdown all resistances towards high blood pressure, of which caffeine is up there. Peter - Nutritionist

    Re: High blood pressure

I'm surprised that no one replying to your posting has mentioned yet the number 1 heart related remedy used by homeopathy which is CRATAEGUS (made from Hawthorn Berries), It is very effective and usually given in tincture form daily. Have a
look on the internet at www.herbaltherapeutics.net/Crataegus.doc.pdf where a number of (old) doctors give their reports of cases cured of

"cardiac neuralgia; palpitation; intermittent pulse with increased rate; extreme dyspnea on slight exertion, usually accompanied with pain in the cardiac region; valvular deficiency, with or without enlargement. Crataegus is a remedy of great power in both functional and organic wrongs of theheart."

Dr Green, after all, who rediscovered its use treated Royalty and all sorts so successfully for heart probs for so many years that he became a rich man. I haven't heard of any known side effects at the low rates eg 10 drops twice or three times a day in water, and even higher rates are mentioned in the article as being appropriate per some docs. Several of my clients have done well on it.

I suggest you go to a qualified homeopath and ask about trying some of the tincture for a couple of months, as well as anything else they suggest after hearing your mother's case history. It might be quite correct that there is a genetic component in her case and that a so-called "miasmatic" remedy may need to be considered as well, or their could be some other eg traumatic aetiology, but the Crataegus could well put her right on its own. A bottle of the tincture should cost less than a tenner and last a month, and within a couple of months you'd know whether that on its own would do the trick. You can obtain it direct from http://herbalapothecaryuk.com/index.php

    Re: High blood pressure

Hi there, I have every sympathy with your mum I have just gor off bosoprol my self.  It has been a long road of trial and error exercise and diet. The best thing I have found (and for me the effect was instant) is IVY's muktavati. In one day it came down to 126/66 in the evening ( always my best time of day) it also brought the morning reading down to 136/74 almost unheard for that time of day. Really worth a try.  www.muktavati.com

    best wishes Jill

    Re: High blood pressure

There is a new Juice called MonaVie which freeze dried the Acai Berry from the Amazon jungle.(preserving most of it's nutrition) - anyway, people around here have been cutting their blood pressure med's in half after taking this wonder drink for 3 to 6 months!  the proof is in the Blood tests.  The juice has 19 fruit juices from all over the world.  you take just 2 oz morning & 2 oz at night...   check it out...   www.monavie.com

The juice can be pricey ($40) -  I joined up to be a distributor ($39) so I can purchase quantity for my family & friends & get it for $25/ a bottle !

"I tried 14 different products to lower my "genetic" blood pressure, none worked"

    No surprise there then!

    Re: High blood pressure

Vitamin D status, which is amenable to intervention by safely increasing sun exposure or vitamin D supplementation, was associated inversely with BP

The relationship between vitamin d and blood pressure is probably driven by improved calcium uptake. In order to maximise calcium absorption from the diet vitamin d status has to at least 80nmol/l.

Most people in the UK are vitamin d insufficient. The average UK winter status is around 40nmol/l (people in their 70's drop down to 23nmol/l in the winter) Each 400iu vitamin D3 tablet will raise your status by 9nmol/L. It follows that to achieve a status over 80nmol/l (this also reduces colon cancer incidence by 72%) requires around 2000iu/daily vitamin D3. Risk assessment for vitamin D details the safety of up to 10,000iu/daily/D3

This is why blood pressure naturally is lower in the summer (more sunshine more vitamin d3), when you spend time nearer the equator or when you spend time at higher altitudes (nearer the sun/less atmospheric pollution for the UVB rays to penetrate.

    Re: High blood pressure

Perhaps supplementing with arginine in order to reduce blood pressure makes sense if you do not have any other options. Yes, arginine (which in higher concentrations found in chocolate, nuts, seeds, raisins, cereal grains and gelatine) is converted into nitric oxide, the naturally occurred vasodilator formed in our endothelial cells. But nitric oxide is also a free-radical gas which would inevitably add to oxidative stress and subsequent tissue acidosis. I would suggest that you think twice before going this way, especially if oxidative stress is already present in your body. There are plenty of other natural ways to reduce high blood pressure; you just need to know the exact cause of it. You may try many natural supplements, and if you are lucky you may find the one which works wonders for you without spending a fortune and doing more harm than good to yourself.

    Hope it helps.
