I had a series of low level jobs, and at times had brief fantasies of sweeping everything off the tables and making a mess. These feelings surprised me, as they were

re: Beating the blues through diet

If you have a girlfriend dieting you really need to send her this eCard.
As someone who practices much of what you advocate...initially for similar reasons, I can endorse most of what you say.

It of course follows on that this is mostly sound advice generally for health, correct weight maintainance, etc.

I don't have an issue with good quality frozen, natural veg , fish, meat though!

One important factor I find.. is correct lipid consumption.Saturated fats such as grass fed butter, virgin coconut oil, make a big difference, along with avoidance of vegetable oils and fats....contrary to much popular opinion!!

The logic and scientific understanding of the 'hows' and 'whys' for said advice is available and needs to be looked at as a fascinating insite into the workings of our amazing bodies....To that end, I have just posted a plea....on this site, but don't know where Lynne will place it yet!... for collective effort in changing the current populist advice from 'official' sources.

Thanks to all for your comments!

Low fat diets are, I believe, literally contributing to our depression problem as we need sufficient 'good' saturated fats for mental as well as physical, health.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil OK in moderation.....and cold, but NOT to cook with of course,as they breakdown detrimentally on heating.

Perhaps you can gently persuade the likes of the FSA, Diabetes Uk et. al, that their nutritional advice is contributing to the problems of obesity, diabetes ,cancers?

I am dismised as 'misguided'....but then I don't have a Phd!:)

Regards,

David.
