The usual treatment is drugs, and there are some dietary suggestions as well, especially cutting down on salt and fat as promoted by

re: Eat your way to lower blood pressure

A good article thank you,- noting the emotional factors in elevated blood pressure.

I have a bit of a problem with both diets mentioned though. The value of Mediteranean style of eating is well established by now. The physical activity added both as taken the opportunity to choose walk instead of wehicles when possible and some activity that is fun, but added to cardiovascular is the strength training too, does not need the gym. Dedication to reality as part of our spirituality won't present us with nasty suprises and disappointments either. I would call it "intentional living".

Be well! joseph.

I agree that the Mediterranean Diet is a true and tested approach to general health. Let us note that not all of us live in a Mediterranean climate, though, so that if it is winter in New York, for example, we need warming foods like soups and stews, and some fats. Modest amounts of olive oil and coconut oil work fine. It is, however, the emphasis on plant foods that I find most helpful from the above mentioned diets.

You're also right about activities. And "intentional living" cannot be argued with.

Warm regards, Annemarie

just a note to say thank you for making the effort to present these details.

This is a time when almost everything has a monetary cost. A notion I fundamentally disagree with. You are using your expertise to help others, this is not charitable, it is conscientious and humane. If more people with knowledge did this, especially in the medical field, so many people would benefit, and this ailing planet, disease ridden society, would go some way toward healing, in this way, too, the psychological disturbances that exacerbate tension, reactionism and conflict, might be abated.

Salutations

Luc

I am a great believer in the power of Xocai unprocessed healthy chocolate. I eat it every day and haven't been near a doctors in 10 years or more. Its under clinical trials at the moment for Parkinson's disease and the heart. It holds many a testimonial for lowering blood pressure, cholesterol, pain/inflammation, eyes, and energy. Not enough people are aware of its possibilities and need to try it.
