&lt;p&gt;I have, for a long time, been concerned that cancer researchers are not independent enough from those carrying out the medical treatments aiming for cures.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;A friend's daughter died of pneumonia caused by a failed immune system after drastic chemo for her so called curable Hodgkin's disease. &lt;/p&gt;
