My Alternative Cancer Diary

Further Digestion Problems

In September 2004 I visited my GP as I was suffering from bouts of diarrhoea and was worried that I was not absorbing my supplements enough.  He told me to take Imodium to stop it, but the symptoms persisted along with other IBS symptoms I had not experienced for a long time.

During this time I lost a lot of weight, developed a high temperature and, worst of all, I was too ill to eat very much or take my supplements for several weeks.  For a time I was convinced that my cancer had spread to my bowel and I was wasting away.

I consulted a local alternative therapist recommended by a friend, who temporarily took over my health care.  I am so glad he did!  He told me exactly what my health problem was – my own doctor didn’t have a clue, and the prescribed medicine was useless – and treated me with a combination of homeopathic medicine, a special diet, health supplements and fasting, until I recovered.

It was a nasty illness – a yeast infection complicated by a virus that affected my bowel – but it had nothing whatsoever to do with cancer!  He also gave me emotional support when I really needed it – especially when he supported my decisions about treating breast cancer, and gave me a lot of useful advice.

If I hadn’t had this vital support, I may have given up on my treatment plan altogether.  Luckily, that didn’t happen, but I can understand the pressures some people are under when they go against medical advice.

After my recovery from the infection, I gradually returned to a normal weight, and in December I went away to the Canary Islands for Christmas, where we had a fantastic time.

I came back feeling really well, and went for an appointment in London to have a thermograph.  This is totally non-invasive and picks up changes in breast tissue long before mammograms can.  My scan showed a slight difference in temperature between one breast and the other (less than one degree), and the consultant was very pleased with my progress.

My blood test in January was a lot better and the second tumour marker was now down to 13.7 – a lot better than the previous result of 21.00!  Things were going really well.

I had breast cancer diagnosed on 19th April 07 and declined  the operation for 4 months and took Mistletoe by injection during that time.  My tumours grew bigger and I chickened out and had a bi-lateral mastectomy on 30th August 07.    I declined Tamoxafen and am taking supplements plus Zeolite, B17 plus herbs from John of God in Brazil and juicing veg every day.   I have a friend Christine who was diagnosed 3 years ago and has not had any conventional treatment.  She has had mistletoe, Carctol and herbs from John of God.   She has also visited John of God in Brazil twice and is sure this has helped in her healing.   She is trying to get Mistletoe paid for by the NHS but has failed so far but intends to publish how well she is without conventional treatment.   She has been given the all clear by her NHS consultant.

I hope the above is of help.   Thank you Sue for giving others help and hope.

Thank you for your sharing your story.  I have heard since that with alternative medicine it may appear that things are getting worse before they get better.  This is something called the "healing crisis" and it happens when the body is having to get rid of a lot of toxins at once - more than it can cope with at times and so it makes the person being treated feel worse for a time.  This could have happened to me in a way although it was a bit of a delayed reaction.  I can quite understand your reaction though - it is scary.

I am glad you refused tamoxifen.  It seems the more I read about it the worse it becomes - how it can go on being prescribed is beyond me when you consider it is a carcinogen in itself.  The mistletoe treatment was one of the options that I was considering but I responded well to B17 and essiac so didn't take it up.  I really think docors should get rid of a lot of their pre-conceived ideas about alternatives and really explore them - there is plenty of evidence to show they work and it has to be miles better than what they have at the moment.

Have you ever seen anything from The Dulwich Health Society especially about cancer, parasites, etc.  It could be worth while phoning 020 8670 6616 and getting at least Rolf Gordon's leaflet on Geopathic Stress, and possiibly quoting my name as I have recently been in touch with him.

I am interested in the above debate as unfortunately I am a cancer patient, or was a cancer patient.  I had surgery to remove the tumour in the colon 2005 and was given misleading advice about my chances of a full recovery, I was told I had a 95% of a complete cure. I thought this was erroneous as I felt I had a herditary condition but I was scoffed at by the oncologist when I discussed this.  It turned out I was right.  Less than a year later the cancer had returned. I was told I must have chemotherapy, radiation and more radical surgery. After much thought I refused this treatment and have refused it again last September. I have done what the eminent oncologists thought impossible: shrunk the lesions using no conventional treatment. I was referred to the CAAT treatment by friends who are bio physicists and working on the metabolism of cancer cells. Specifically in glycolysis.  I have treated this genetically occuring cancer with diet and the results have been incredible so far. My MRI scans which are done at a leading cancer hospital in the UK, prove the lesions starting shrinking as soon I went on the treatment and the colonoscopies showed dramatic improvement of the inside of the colon about 5 weeks after i commenced it.  Five months after starting the CAAT diet the 3 cm nodule sticking out the side of the colon was no longer visible on the scan.

I was a nurse for years and saw how people suffered from chemotherapy. Lets face it, it is a primitive premise: to bomb the body with toxic substances and hope that the "collateral damage" is not too severe.  If people were cured by chemotherapy there would be no deaths from cancer.

However, chemotherapy causes unbearable suffering: it causes starvation, emaciation, intractable pain, vomiting, diarhoea,  hair loss, infertility to name just a few symptoms. It is barbaric to give people such toxic drugs especially when the cancer has spread and invaded many of the internal organs. It makes a person's suffer more in the last months of their life and deprives them of being prepare for their death or spend any precious time with their family.

I met with a scientist recently who is developing a vaccine for certain cancers and she herself said that the drug companies were the biggest obstacle in getting funding for the next stage of the development of the vaccine. She cannot get funding from the government but has to pander to drug companies to try and support the trials, she does feel they don't want a cure for cancer as they have too much invested in the current drugs.

I am living proof that cleverer, more intelligent treatments are available and my treatment involved no sickness, no nausea, no side effects at all except some hunger now and again. New and innnovative cancer treatments that look at interfering with the synthesis of cancer DNA or interference with glycolysis as mine did through diet, are the way of the future. Bombarding a body with toxins is a treatment that has its roots in medieval thinking.
